UNRWA, or the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, is a relief and human development agency created by the UN General Assembly in 1949. The organization provides assistance, protection, and humanitarian aid to approximately 5.5 million Palestine refugees, helping them achieve their full potential in human development. Their services include healthcare, such as caring for pregnant women during high-risk pregnancies and deliveries, and providing post-natal care. UNRWA is primarily funded through voluntary contributions.
